Abstract

This article intends to evaluate the available energy and various losses in the diesel engine and three different blends: D90J7.5E2.5 (7.5% Jatropha curcas oil and 2.5% of ethanol biodiesel blended with 90% of diesel), D95J3.75E1.25 (3.75% Jatropha curcas oil and 1.25% of ethanol biodiesel blended with 90% of diesel), D98J1.5E0.5 (1.5% Jatropha curcas oil and 0.5% of ethanol biodiesel blended with 98% of diesel ). Experimental tests were done to examine the exergy and energy characteristics of the diesel engine fuelled by three different blends at various load conditions.
