Abstract

Differential cross sections are calculated for the electron, positron and proton impact excitation of metastable He(21,3S) states to the spin-allowed states (n1,3P, n=2,3) in the distorted-wave Born approximation. The present calculations are compared with other available theoretical results and experimental measurements. Total electron impact excitation cross section results are also reported for 21S-21P and 23S-23P transitions and are compared with the other available theoretical calculations.
