Abstract

The thermodynamic properties of potential oxygenates with aliphatic compounds are of great importance in chemical industries. The excess molar enthalpy (HmE) of an oxygenate (2-propanol) (1) with hydrocarbon (2) mixtures was measured with flow microcalorimeter at 303.15K. The HmE versus x1 plots are skewed toward y-axis and for equimolar mixtures HmE vary as: o-xylene>p-xylene>m-xylene>benzene>toluene. It was found that Flory–Treszczanowicz–Benson model (FTB) and Graph theoretical approach predict the measured HmE data quite well.
