Abstract

We measured the mobility and lifetime of excess electrons in high-purity liquid Ar-Xe mixtures as a function of the electric field for several Xe concentrations x in Ar at T = 83.7 K by using a pulsed photoemission technique. We found an unexpected dependence of mobility and lifetime on the concentration of Xe. We discuss cluster formation as a possible mechanism explaining our data.
