Abstract

We present an exactly solvable model of baryon spectroscopy which has O(7) dynamic symmetry and is based on a hyperCoulomb three-body quark potential. The corresponding form factors, which are calculated analytically, show a power-law behavior as a function of momentum transfer Q 2. Because of the O(7) symmetry there is a degeneracy between the Roper resonance and the negative parity excited states, in qualitative agreement with the observed spectrum. A linear confinement term is also added. The SU(6) symmetry is broken by a spin-spin interaction and by a small tensor term.
