Abstract

The following chapter examines the visual communication methods and styles of Hargreaves Jones Landscape Architecture. For the past 30 years, Hargreaves Jones Landscape Architecture (formerly Hargreaves Associates) has been designing and implementing award-winning landscapes across the globe. Over this time, the firm has received over 100 awards for its transformative projects and has developed a portfolio of published and exhibited works nationally and internationally. The firm has used a variety of analogue and digital visual communication methods to study and generate various landscape forms and designs. The firm has been recognized for their use of clay and sand as a medium to model landform and create complex formal topographical expressions. Today, Hargreaves Jones Landscape Architecture utilizes BIM and other parametric technologies as part of their visual communication platform.
