Abstract
Cardiac surgery is one of the most commonly performed surgery nowadays - thanks to improved extracorporeal circulation technique , improved postoperative care as well as myocardial protection strategy . Cardioplegia solution was conceptualized to stop the heart for surgery as well as to protect the heart . Various modifications of cardioplegia solution had been made to make it more cardio-friendly. Following review article is a concise review of evolution of various cardioplegia solutions and their various components .
