Abstract

The mass splits in the fission decays of giant $E1$, $\frac{E2}{E0}$, and $E3$ multipole resonances have been studied in $^{235,238}\mathrm{U}(e, {e}^{\ensuremath{'}}f)$ coincidence experiments. The fission width ratios $\frac{{\ensuremath{\Gamma}}_{S}}{{\ensuremath{\Gamma}}_{A}}$ have been determined as functions of excitation energy for separated multipoles. The isoscalar gaint $E2$ resonances show a larger symmetric contribution than the $E1$ and $E3$ resonances.
