Abstract

It was found that, in hydrocyclones under the action of the Coriolis force, the velocity of solid particles in the outer, downward flow decreases and their velocity in the inner, upward flow increases. In screw centrifuges and vortex dust collectors, the Coriolis force has no appreciable effect on the peripheral velocity of a particle.
