Abstract

The aim of this study is to propose a quantitative evaluation method for the networks of tactile tiles for guiding the visually impaired taking into consideration the use of public transportation and location of public facilities. The evaluation method proposed in this study is applied to Tokushima city as a case study. The results show that the continuity and the efficiency of the actual tactile tile network is low level and the sound crossing signal is useful to decrease the burden of movement. Realistic evaluation could execute by the proposed model which considered the burden of movement.
