Evaluation Of Physical Education Independent Curriculum Through CIPP: Managerial Implementation In Learning Activities

The government has created an independent curriculum as a learning recovery, but not all schools implement it well. Therefore, an evaluation is needed, especially regarding the management of learning activities. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the implementation of the independent curriculum model in physical education subjects at State Vocational Schools in Tasikmalaya City. This research used a qualitative descriptive approach. In this study, data were collected through triangulation techniques consisting of observation, semi-structured interviews, and documentation. This study involved the vice principal for curriculum, four physical education teachers, and four students. They were selected through a purposive sampling technique. Data analysis involved preparation, inference, and verification. The results showed that the context evaluation of goals and objectives indicators and strength indicators had been fulfilled. However, weakness indicators related to teacher consistency in implementing learning still exist. Input evaluation on indicators of curriculum structure, PE teacher competence, teaching materials, and students have been fulfilled and run well. However, input evaluation on indicators of infrastructure availability still needs to support the continuity of PE learning. Process evaluation on indicators of implementation and implementation of assessments has gone well, but product evaluation on indicators of program achievement still needs to be improved. Implementing CIPP managerial evaluation is carried out by ensuring that the evaluation is carried out systematically, periodically, and comprehensively. Evaluation results are used as the basis for decision-making related to the improvement and development of the Physical Education curriculum. Teachers and school management play an active role in ensuring the sustainability and effectiveness of the evaluation.

Schoolchildren’s Thinking on the Subject and Teachers of Physical Education According to Gender and Educational Grade

The objective of this study was to understand the perceptions of Primary (PrE) and Secondary Education (SE) students in Cantabria about the subject of physical education (PE) and their teachers. A descriptive, comparative relational analytical cross-sectional design was used. A total of 1164 students (387 from PrE and 777 from SE) answered an ad hoc questionnaire on their satisfaction with their PE classes (eight items) and teachers (nine items). The results indicate that the PrE students were more satisfied than the SE students regarding the following statements about PE: more hours per week (p < 0.001); classes and subjects that I like the most (p < 0.001); I enjoy and have fun (p < 0.001); interesting and motivating (p < 0.001); and useful for life (p < 0.001) and easy (p = 0.006). The boys’ responses reflected higher values than the girls’ on all the previous items (p < 0.005). Regarding their thinking about their PE teachers, statistically significant differences were found in the PrE students’ responses compared with those of the SE students for the following: explains well and is easily understood (p = 0.006); stimulates and encourages participation (p = 0.050); cares and is interested in the students (p = 0.031); treat boys and girls the same (p < 0.001); and I prefer a woman because she understands me better (p = 0.021). Therefore, the male and primary-stage students showed more positive attitudes towards PE. In general, there was a favorable disposition towards PE and towards teachers, which must be taken into account to achieve SDG 4.

Physical education preservice teachers’ perceptions of the subject and profession: development during 2005–2016

ABSTRACTBackground: During the socialization process when becoming a physical education (PE) teacher, the knowledge, perceptions and expectations of what it means to work as a teacher are developed. In this socialization, the initial acculturation phase is shown to be of the most importance, since individual PE teachers’ experiences during this phase are shown to have a long-lasting influence on their approach to and perception of the subject and the profession. Furthermore, research shows that most physical education teacher education (PETE) programmes are ineffective in altering these initial perceptions and beliefs during the programme. This inertia to change may resemble Bourdieu’s concept of habitus.Purpose: The purpose of this study was to analyse the background of PE preservice teacher students (PSTs) and examine their embodied perceptions and beliefs related to the subject and profession when they enrol. Specifically, the study focuses on their background characteristics, perceptions of PE and PE teachers, and whether their background and perceptions changed between 2005 and 2016.Method: This study draws on a web-based questionnaire completed by 224 students (90 women and 134 men) enrolled in the PETE programme at a major university in Sweden between 2005 and 2016. The questionnaire used in this study addressed the PSTs’ experiences, views, beliefs and perceptions of PE and the PE profession, and it was completed during the first semester of respective students’ PE subject studies.Findings: PE PSTs are a homogeneous group of students with similar backgrounds, experiences and perceptions of PE and their future profession as PE teachers. Participants suggested that important characteristics for a good PE teacher include possessing subject knowledge, having pedagogical competence and being considerate. A good PE lesson should be fun and inspiring, consist of physical activity and be adapted to all. Important goals for PE are to develop pupils’ character and promote healthy behaviours. The PSTs’ background characteristics and perceptions do not seem to have changed during the studied period, in spite of the fact that the structure of the PETE programme did change.Conclusions: The homogeneous background among PSTs, with vast experience of sport and physical activity, implies that they will interact and engage with students with similar backgrounds and perceptions (i.e. habitus) during PETE. This may limit the potential influence of PETE and fail to prepare PSTs for the demands of their future profession. However, if the influences of acculturation were accounted for during PETE, the programmes could be better designed and better prepare PSTs for their future profession.

The article examines the interdisciplinary connections of natural science and mathematics disciplines and physical education. The directions of realization by of interdisciplinary links by the physical education teacher, which is one of the principles of didactics, are defined. The possibilities of providing educational materials for other disciplines that are aimed at improving the effectiveness of physical exercises are considered. These exercises are necessary for the development of the body of schoolchildren. The ways of applying the didactic functions of interdisciplinary connections in the teaching of physical education are studied. The place of interdisciplinary connections in the formation of students' systematic knowledge, their depth and application is determined. Separately, the process of implementing links between the subjects of physics, mathematics, computer science and physical education is investigated. It is proved that the practical knowledge gained by students on the subject of physical education can also be used when conducting a laboratory experiment in physics. The meanings of mathematical concepts that students get acquainted with during the study of the subject of physical education are revealed. The possibilities of using some educational materials in physical education lessons related to the subject of geography have been studied. The ways of applying the principles of interdisciplinary communication with the subject of physical education in the study of topics related to the protection of human health and the human body in biology are determined. The issue of the integrated teaching of natural-mathematical and physical disciplines is considered.

The Swedish school system has undergone a significant change and development during the last 180 years. The Physical Education Teacher Education (PETE) has made its own development journey, from training gymnastics directors with a particular focus on floor gymnastics and fencing, to becoming a university education with its foundation in sports science. Despite the significant changes in the school's governance and the development of PETE, the same development does not seem to have taken place for the professional practice of Physical Education (PE) teachers. The PE teachers seem to have difficulties formulating what the knowledge objective of the PE subject is. There also seem to be difficulties in formulating how learning in the PE subject should take place. A certain reproduction of traditional values takes place, and the PE teaching profession is described and experienced as marginalised. Based on this, the dissertation's aim is to create an understanding of the PE teachers’ pursuit of purpose and status and what that pursuit entails. To achieve this aim, two studies have been conducted. Based on the perspective that PE teachers function as street-level bureaucrats, the first study aims to understand what governs their professional practice and how they manage it. The aim of the second study is to understand which continuities exist in the language used about the PE teaching profession and what it means for the professional claims of the PE teaching profession. By analysing the language within and about the PE teacher profession, the dissertation creates an understanding of PE teachers' pursuit of purpose and status and what that pursuit entails. The thesis shows that PE teachers in their professional practice are Problem Solvers, Comfort Creators and Organisers. It further identifies continuities in the language about the PE teacher profession gathered within the themes of Strength, Liveliness and Status. Finally, the dissertation describes how the PE teacher profession uses social closure in its professional claim.

Training for Coaching or Teaching - a Challenge for Swedish Physical Education Teacher Education

Ever since the establishment of compulsory education in Sweden, competitive sports have had an important influence on the subject of physical education (PE) and Physical Education Teacher Education (PETE). In the latest curriculum of the subject of Physical Education, the name changed from Sports to Sport and Health indicating that health education should have a greater impact on the subject than before. Research and evaluation of the subject shows that activities related to competitive sports are the most frequent content during the lessons. It is also established by research that PE teacher educators share the value and norms of competitive sports, e.g. the necessity of using the body as a tool for success in sport. The teacher education students have a background in competitive sports and are also more interested in an education in sports than in a teacher education. PETE as well as the subject of PE is seen as conservative and reproductive. It is likely to believe that the connection to competitive sports is part of that conservatism. In order to develop PETE and really implement the aims of the curriculum it could be valuable to take the PE trainees' opinions of their future profession as a point of departure, supporting them in the tasks they find difficult and challenging them in the tasks they find easy. 25 PE trainees at a teacher education in Sweden were asked what tasks they find easy and what tasks they find difficult in the PE teacher profession? The answers were interpreted with the help of Bernstein's theory of the concepts of ‘classification' and ‘framing' and ‘educational transmission'. The PE trainees' view of the PE teacher profession can be described as: and distinct with motivated pupils, meaning that if the teacher is just and distinct the pupils will be motivated. They drew a picture of a teacher more like a referee in a sport game than a modern teacher. Can PETE challenge this picture and support the trainees' to build a PE teacher identity that is more in line with a skilled modern teacher. Can such an effort even be valuable for the leaders in competitive sports?

An integrated blended learning approach for physical education teacher education programmes: teacher educators’ and pre-service teachers’ experiences

Background: A plethora of new terms and digital pedagogies have been making recent headlines in higher education with the promise, or threat, that digital technology will revolutionise the way in which universities operate. Blended learning is part of this digital revolution and institutions of higher education worldwide are increasingly adopting it as a new mode of delivery. The exposure of blended learning as central to mainstream higher education has been heightened exponentially during the COVID-19 pandemic. Purpose: Challenged by the argument around the concept of ‘blended’ being ill defined, and also given the lack of practical ‘blended’ experiences in physical education teacher education (PETE), this paper aims to explore physical education teacher educators’ and pre-service teachers’ (PSTs’) enactment and experiences of an integrated approach to blended learning. Method: Three physical education teacher educators and two classes of physical education PSTs participated. The integrated blended approach was designed through a block structure which allowed intended outcomes, teaching and learning activities and assessment tasks to be aligned and interconnected. Data collection occurred over two academic years for the same three physical education teacher educators and two different cohorts of PSTs. Focus groups interviews were conducted with the three teacher educators and a voluntary sample of PSTs. PSTs’ learning blogs were also analysed. Results: Findings were presented in three categories: Development of strong building blocks; Blended learning ‘releases the teaching and learning from the grips of the lecturer’; and Assessment in a blended (and non-blended) environment. We attempted to go beyond the binary humanist assumption about blended learning by designing an integrated approach with a clear but flexible structure. That is, with an organic alignment and purposeful integration of all its instructional components. Conclusions: When introducing blended learning in a (physical education) teacher education programme, we suggest designing an aligned and integrated approach structured in blocks, where all instructional components are interconnected and informing each other, enhancing prior knowledge. Given the growing role of digital technology for teaching and learning in educational policies and new PETE curricula, we advocate for the publication of more research-based experiences on blended learning in PETE programmes that might be replicated in other PETE programmes. This would encourage colleagues to explore the implications of digital technology and learn from other PETE contexts and also the sustainability of digital technology as an established mode of delivery.

Examine the Relationship Between Locus of Control and Happiness Male Physical Education and Non Physical Education Teachers in Yazd Province

This study examined the relationship between locus of control and happiness for male physical and non-physical education teachers in Yazd province. A total of 260 teachers (physical education 53 people, non-PE 207) by random sampling, and finally 258 questionnaires were examined. In this study, Pearson correlation method for carrying out the Questionnaire of resources Rotter (short form) and Oxford were used. The results showed a positive relationship between locus of control and happiness (001/0 P =). There is a significant. The findings showed Components of mental health, life satisfaction, self-efficacy and positive role in the happiness of the highest physical and non-physical education teachers have. In addition, the comparative study between the two groups in terms of locus of control, physical education teachers from internal locus of control than non-PE teachers, respectively. Implementation of Physical Education component within the basic science and technology curriculum and the time allocation in comparison to other basic science and technology subjects

The objective is to assess the implementation of physical education (PE) component within the basic science technology subjects (BST) curriculum and the time allocation in comparison to other BST subjects. Descriptive survey research was adapted. The population was 109,778, comprising 109,383 students, 78 PE teachers and 317 head teachers of public Junior Secondary School (JSS), representing eighteen (18) Local Government Areas (LGAs) in Edo State. The sample size was 1,060 comprising 70 PE teachers, 90 Head teachers and 900 students; and they were selected using multi-stage sampling procedure. Two instruments were used to obtain data: “Implementation of PE component of BST curriculum questionnaire (IPECBSTCQ) and Time Allocation and General time table information for PE and BST subjects schedule (TAGTIPEBSTS). The cronbach alpha statistics was used to determine the reliability of the instrument, the r-value of 0.95 was obtained for the IPECBSTCQ. Main findings suggest an endorsement of policy statements related to PE within the BST by the PE and Head teachers. Also, PE is not accorded necessary attention compared to other subjects within the BST curriculum. It was concluded that PE and other Head teachers were conversant with National Policy on Education (NPE) stipulations as relates to PE within the BST curriculum; just as it was necessary for more time to be allotted to PE on the general time table in comparison to other BST subjects. It was chiefly recommended that supervisory officials of the Ministry of Education should ensure strict adherence to policy implementation related to PE within the BST.

“A clear and obvious ability to perform physical activity”: revisiting physical education teachers' perceptions of talent in PE and sport

Background: This paper examines physical education (PE) teachers' perceptions of talent in PE and sport within the context of English policy, where the process of identifying talent has been formalised and supported through specific resources (YST 2009). English policy has merged educational and sporting targets, which has resulted in a shift in foci away from educational objectives towards supporting elite development. Combining the aims of PE and sport contributes to longstanding debates over the nature and purpose of PE. Despite specific initiatives, there remains limited understanding of talent identification (ID) and as such, a danger for talent in PE and sport to be considered synonymous, resulting in a lack of clarity over the methods, purpose and focus of talent ID, and consequently notions of ability in PE. Purpose: In order to gain insight into the processes involved in talent ID in PE an electronic survey was conducted on PE departments' practices and perceptions within London boroughs. The survey aimed to establish a regional picture of respective practices as well as determining how PE teachers define talent in PE and sport. It also attempted to supplement related findings of the national survey on talent in PE (Bailey, Morley, and Dismore 2009). Method: Where an email address was available, an electronic survey link was sent to 400 state secondary schools across all London boroughs during the latter part of the summer term, 2008. A total of 84 (21%) responses were received. Data were collected using an electronic survey consisting of both quantitative and qualitative questions. Questions related to: Gifted and Talented (G&T) Policy; talent ID processes; staff training; and PE teachers' definitions of talent in PE and sport. Analyses of quantitative data were conducted using SPSS (version 15.0) and descriptive frequencies were obtained and reported. Open-ended responses were entered into N-Vivo (©Sage, version 7) and responses were coded into categories in order for themes to be identified. Results and discussion: Talent ID practices are compared to those reported in the national survey on talent development in PE. They reflect limited development in PE specific policy, training, awareness and use of available resources. PE teachers continue to predominantly utilise physical ability as a key indicator of talent; however, there is some indication that perceptions of talent are widening. The findings reveal inconsistencies in PE teachers' definitions of talent in PE and sport, where some are able to distinguish between the two whilst others are not. This is a concern for stakeholders and raises questions on the conceptual clarity of talent in PE. Conclusion: Defining talent in PE remains a contentious issue. The apparent merging of PE and sport, in policy and practice, reinforces the association of talent with physical performance which has re-catalysed debates on whether this is an appropriate way to conceptualise talent within PE. In working towards educational objectives, the PE profession should reflect on the purpose of current practice and consider who may benefit.

Contributions of physical education teachers’ competences to students’ learning achievements

This study aims to determine whether the competences of Physical Education (PE) teachers make contributions to the quality of learning achievements of elementary school students. It was qualitative descriptive research using a reflective explorative approach. The subject of this study was the result of competence test of PE teachers in Yogyakarta Special Region in 2016. The study involved 60 PE teachers who were subjected to have an FGD (Forum Group Discussion) in some stages. The results show that the average score obtained by elementary school PE teachers in their Teacher Competence Test (TCT) stage II in 2016 was 61.79 for the pedagogical competences, and 60.07 for the professional competences. These results could exceed the national average score of 53.7. Based on the interviews with several teachers, the results of the competence tests had not indicated that PE elementary school teachers could improve the students’ learning quality. The teachers focused more on their preparations to take the TCT as a part of the assignments to the Learning Teacher program they participated in. This study also reveals that the TCT scores did not make a significant contribution to the students’ learning achievements in PE subject. Furthermore, TCT was considered by the teachers as a goal and not as an instrument to improve their competences in the teaching and learning processes.

Survey of Students’ Participation in Physical Education Learning and Athletic Materials

This study aims to determine students’ interest in physical education and health subjects in athletics at SDN 01 Lahat Regency. This research uses quantitative descriptive research methods along with survey methods. Where, this research was conducted on class V students of SDN 01 Lahat Regency. The population of this study was all 35 people. The sample taken in this research was 35 people obtained using total sampling technique. Research data collection was carried out by giving questionnaires to the sample. The data analysis technique used in processing research data is data analyzed using descriptive statistical techniques in the form of mean, mode, standard deviation and coefficient of variance. The results of the study showed that 4 students (11.47%) had an interest in physical education subject matter. athleticism is in the very high category. 5 students (14.28%) had an interest in physical education subjects, athletic material, which was in the high category, 9 students (25.71%) had an interest in physical education subjects, athletic material, which was in the medium category and 17 students (48.57%) have interest in physical education subjects, athletic material, which is in the low category. And there are no students who have an interest in physical education subjects, the athletic material is in the very low category. It can be concluded that interest in physical education subjects in athletics at SDN 01 Lahat Regency is still in the low category so an analysis of the factors that influence interest in physical education subjects in athletics at SDN 01 Lahat Regency is needed and special learning methods are also needed to increase interest in physical education subjects regarding athletics at SDN 01 Lahat Regency.

The Ability of Physical Education Teachers in Implementing Learning at Elementary Schools in Southwest Aceh Regency

Physical education teachers are responsible for preparing quality Learning Implementation Plans and implementing effective learning processes so that learning objectives are achieved. A good Learning Implementation Plan will make it easier for teachers to implement structured and directed learning. Physical education teachers face challenges in implementing effective learning processes. The physical education learning process must actively involve students and train their motor skills. However, in practice, physical education teachers often face difficulties in managing classes and making students actively engaged in learning. The approach used by the author in this study was a mixed-method approach (combined method) with an explanatory sequential design type. The research sample comprised nine physical education teachers working in elementary schools throughout Aceh Barat Daya Regency. The data collection techniques used by the researcher were observation and interview techniques. 1) Physical education teachers' ability to implement learning in elementary schools in Aceh Barat Daya Regency obtained the "Good" category with an average score of 6.5. Teachers can display personality aspects that include indicators of being charming, authoritative, firm, full of calling, and alert. In learning activities, teachers can carry out activities to open lessons, master materials, determine learning steps (activities), evaluate the process and learning outcomes, and close learning well. 2) The obstacles felt by physical education teachers in implementing the learning process at Elementary Schools in Southwest Aceh Regency are related to the limited availability of physical education learning facilities and infrastructure at schools. This has an impact on the less-than-optimal implementation of learning and evaluation activities. In addition, the limited time in learning activities, especially to evaluate the learning process of each student as a whole, so that teachers choose a fast and simple evaluation method. 1) The ability of physical education teachers to implement learning in Elementary Schools in Aceh Barat Daya Regency obtained the "Good" category. Teachers can display personality aspects and implement learning well. 2) The obstacles felt by physical education teachers in implementing the learning process at SD Negeri Aceh Barat Daya Regency are related to the limited availability of physical education learning facilities and infrastructure at the school and limited time in learning activities, especially to evaluate the learning process of each student as a whole.

Making sense of teaching social and moral skills in physical education

Background: Education policies and curriculum documents in many European countries promote the social and moral development of young people as a cross-curriculum goal and place that goal at the center of the education process. All subjects, including physical education (PE) are required to contribute to the social and moral development of the children. Scholars have argued that PE and especially the PE teacher play a crucial role in the social and moral development of children. There is however little scientific evidence that underpins the positive contribution of PE to this development. Scholars also understand the social and moral domain in diverse ways. Little is known about how teachers themselves think about their responsibilities with respect to the social and moral development of their students through PE and how they understand and operationalize such curriculum goals. Purpose: The purpose of this study is to explore how physical education (PE) teachers make sense of this formal curriculum goal and try to operationalize it. PE teachers tend not to be formally trained in didactics of social and moral development. In addition, the PE curriculum gives few guidelines that define social and moral development or how to accomplish this (if at all) but does require them to integrate this development into their teaching. We therefore used a social constructivist perspective with an emphasis on sense making to situate the study. Participants and setting: Participants teaching in different types of high school were recruited from Dutch urban, suburban and rural locations. In total 158 PE teachers participated in this study. Their teaching experience ranged from one to thirty-eight years. Data collection: Data were collected in three phases. Phase 1 was exploratory consisting of eight in-depth interviews. The results were used to construct an open-ended questionnaire that was answered by 55 participants (Phase 2). In Phase 3 we conducted 95 in-depth interviews with PE teachers to further explore themes that had emerged. Data analysis: The data were analyzed with the use of a qualitative data analysis package. We used a thematic analysis that was driven by both the data and the research questions to examine the combined data sets. Findings: The PE teachers unanimously constructed PE classes as places where social and moral skills should and can be developed. They equated social and moral development with the learning of social interactional skills. They differed however, in what they emphasized and the strategies they used to realize this curriculum objective. Conclusion: The PE teachers involved in this study actively worked to contribute to the social and moral development of their pupils by teaching and monitoring social interactional skills. The commonalities in curricular practices found in this study and the individual differences together possibly reflect a globalized socialization of PE teachers into and through sport accompanied by differences rooted in how they as individuals make sense of their upbringing. We recommend the use of a contextually-based bottom-up approach to explore the dynamics of social and moral development in PE classes.

A Gamified Instruction in Teaching Physical Education: A Meta-Synthesis

Aim/Purpose: This study aimed to synthesize findings from 14 qualitative and mixed-methods studies to provide a comprehensive understanding of gamification’s impact on physical education (PE). By identifying key themes, benefits, and challenges, this research offers insights into optimizing gamification strategies for effective PE instruction. Introduction/Background: Gamified instruction has emerged as a transformative educational tool, leveraging game mechanics like rewards, challenges, leaderboards, and feedback loops to enhance engagement and motivation. In PE, gamification offers unique opportunities to address traditional challenges by creating dynamic and interactive learning environments. The integration of gamification in PE is aligned with contemporary pedagogical approaches emphasizing student-centered learning and active participation. Research has shown that gamified strategies can significantly enhance students' enthusiasm, encourage teamwork, and improve physical performance. Despite these advantages, challenges such as increased teacher workload and the need for well-planned implementation strategies remain. This study has synthesized existing research to provide a holistic understanding of gamification's effects in PE, helping educators and policymakers to navigate its complexities while maximizing its benefits. Methodology: This study employed a meta-synthesis approach to integrate findings from 14 prior qualitative and mixed-methods studies on gamification in physical education (PE). A PRISMA diagram was used to systematically summarize the selection process, ensuring transparency and rigor in the inclusion of studies. To assess the quality and reliability of the selected studies, the Critical Appraisal Skills Programme (CASP) was applied. Content analysis was then conducted to identify recurring themes, allowing for a structured synthesis of the data. Through this method, the study provides a comprehensive overview of gamification's impact on PE, highlighting both its benefits and challenges. Using Publish or Perish software, Google Scholar, Semantic Scholar, and Crossref, some academic publications connected to gamification in teaching and learning physical education were found in an electronic database for scholarly research. All research published from 2020 to 2024 that was pertinent to using gamification in teaching and learning physical education was downloaded and examined. Further, the descriptors or keywords entered into the software were qualitative, basic education, gamification, and physical education. Findings: The five primary themes that emerged from the content analysis were that gamification: Increases Student Enthusiasm and Engagement. Gamification significantly boosted student motivation by incorporating elements such as competition, rewards, and game-like scenarios, making PE classes more engaging and dynamic. Encourages Teamwork and Meaningful Learning. Studies highlighted that gamified PE promoted collaborative learning, enhanced peer interaction, and helped students develop essential social and teamwork skills. Improves Physical Performance. Gamification positively influenced students’ physical activity levels, leading to measurable improvements in endurance, coordination, and overall fitness. Adds to Instructors' Workload and Preparation. Implementing gamified strategies requires resource management, extensive planning, and continuous monitoring, increasing demands on teachers. Implementing Challenges. Educators faced difficulties in balancing intrinsic and extrinsic motivation, ensuring inclusivity, and maintaining engagement without overemphasizing competition. Transforms Teaching and Learning Physical Education through Gamification While Navigating Its Complexities emerged as a meta-theme. Gamification significantly boosted student motivation and participation by incorporating rewards, challenges, and teamwork, aligning with modern pedagogical approaches. However, challenges such as increased teacher preparation and resource demands highlighted the need for strategic planning. Contribution/Impact on Society: This study contributes to the existing body of knowledge on gamification by synthesizing qualitative and mixed-methods research findings to offer a broader perspective on its application in PE. The results emphasized that gamification is not merely a novel instructional approach, but a transformative strategy that can enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. Additionally, by fostering increased participation in physical activities, gamification contributes to broader public health goals by promoting lifelong physical activity habits among students. These insights are valuable for educators, curriculum designers, and policymakers aiming to optimize PE instruction through innovative and research-based strategies. Recommendations: These include aligning gamified strategies with curricular goals, training teachers, and balancing extrinsic and intrinsic motivators. In this manner, gamification can create dynamic and inclusive PE environments, fostering meaningful learning and lifelong physical activity. Future research should explore its long-term impacts and how to optimize implementation to maximize benefits. Research Limitation: Despite its comprehensive approach, this study had certain limitations. First, it relied on previously conducted qualitative and mixed-methods studies, which may have methodological variations affecting the synthesis. Additionally, the scope of the study was constrained by the number of available high-quality research articles on gamification in PE. The findings predominantly focused on short-term impacts, leaving the long-term effects of gamification in PE largely unexplored. Finally, factors such as variations in educational settings, teacher expertise, and student demographics may influence the generalizability of the results. Future Research: Future research should focus on exploring the long-term impacts of gamification in physical education, particularly its effects on students' sustained engagement and physical activity habits beyond the classroom. Comparative studies that evaluate gamified instruction against traditional methods could provide stronger evidence of its effectiveness. Additionally, research on the role of emerging technologies, such as virtual reality and mobile applications, in enhancing gamified experiences would be valuable. Investigating the challenges teachers face in implementing gamification, including resource availability and professional development needs, can help refine best practices. Finally, studies should explore how gamification can be adapted for diverse student populations to ensure inclusivity and equitable learning opportunities.

<em>The main problem in identifying the injuries and its prevention in the Physical Education at elementary schools in Sukadana is the nescience of the level of the risk for injury and the injury management steps during the Physical Education subject. Some factors contributing on the nesciences are condition of facilities and infrastructure, school environmental conditions, student behavior and teacher’s conversance. Therefore, this research is purposed to determine the injuries that have occurred and the knowledge of teachers about injury management during Physical Education subject at elementary schools in Sukadana district. This research analyzes the injury management done by the Physical Education teachers at elementary schools in Sukadana district and the injuries that have occurred using some theories related to types and factors of injuries, as well as the proper steps of injury management. This research is a combination research model concurrent embedded (unbalanced mixture), namely a research method that combines qualitative methods and quantitative methods by mixing the two methods unequally. This research uses two kinds of data, primary and secondary data. The technique of collecting data in this research is saturation-sampling technique with the Physical Education teachers in Sukadana district as the informant. The validation of the data, collected from the result of questionnaire and passive participant observation, are then analyzed and tested using member check technique. The result of this research shows that teachers have significant role on diminishing the risk of injury and treating injured students during the Physical Education at the elementary schools in Sukadana district. Generally, the teachers have already had adequate conversance in treating wounded students. Moreover, the injuries occurred are dominated by minor injury. This is due to the learning materials that are still on the basic level. Furthermore, some moderate injuries are caused by student’s health condition, such as medical history and the fitness of the student, that is different one to another.</em>
