Abstract

The foundation of a water tank construction project experiences an inclined at the piles during construction. The construction location is in an area with soil type that can be categorized as soft clay. After a boring test was carried out, it was discovered that the depth of the soft clay soil reached 58 meters before solid sand was found. The aim of this research is to evaluate whether the inclined piles are still able to withstand the axial load that occurs. Analytical method analysis shows that the axial bearing capacity of the pile is 1177.85 kN, then the maximum axial load that occurs is 436 kN. Analysis using RS Pile shows that piles inclined at 50 with alpha angles of 00 and 900 produce pile deflection values of 51.5 mm and 54.2 mm, respectively. At the same inclined angle but with different alpha angle, deflection becomes smaller, (-) 16.6 mm and 20.1 mm respectively at alpha angles of 1800 and 2700. It can be concluded that the lateral bearing capacity of the pile increases are not occur at all angles of inclination, but the direction of force that occurs under the existing load must also be considered.
