Abstract

The resistance of Chinese Qingchuan rock asphalt to rutting at high temperatures was examined in this paper. Base asphalt, SBS modified asphalt, China Qingchuan rock asphalt modified asphalt (CQRMA), composite modified asphalt by China Qingchuan rock asphalt and SBS modified asphalt (CQR-SBSMA) were created. The high temperature stability of “AC-10C + AC-16C” double-layer asphalt mixture composite rutting specimen was evaluated by 1/3 scale accelerated loading test. The results showed that the dynamic stability of asphalt mixture was increased by about 40% after modified by CQRMA. The time-dependent rutting curve of 1/3 scale accelerated full thickness rutting test is basically consistent with that of constant thickness conventional rutting test, the accelerated loading test can more accurately characterize the high-temperature rutting resistance of asphalt mixture or pavement and its performance attenuation lawThe contributions of different types of as-phalt binders to the high temperature stability of asphalt mixtures were in the order of CQR-SBSMA, SBSMA, CQRMA, and 70-A.
