Abstract

OSMF can be dened as a chronic, insidious disease which is extensively found in India and etiology is credited to the habit of betel nut and areca nut chewing. AIM: Our study aimed at evaluating the efcacy of aloe vera juice in OSMF patients bases on the burning sensation, inter incisal duistance, cheek exibility and tongue protrusion. Material & Methods: 50 Patients were administered with aloe vera juice systemically 30 ml two times a day with a regular interval of follow up after every fortnight. Results:signicant improvement seen on the basis of all four parameters. Conclusion: Many treatment modalities since decades have been provided by many authors but no totally effective modality is available. We can conclude from our our study that Aloe vera is effective in treating OSMF but not yet considered to be a proven cure for it.
