Abstract
This paper presents a method to analyse and detect defects on the surface of a master disc (the cause of distorted images) by applying a neural network program and micro-image technology. The method automatically, step-by-step, detects defects in the disc’s electrical signal output which drives an x– y table and provides indicative information for managing contamination in a cleanroom of a manufacturing plant.
