Abstract

Microbial infections are still a major health concern for people all over the world. The use of a number of conventional antibiotics has significantly reduced the complications of infectious diseases. Antibiotic-resistant microorganisms, on the other hand, have a short lifespan, and antibiotic abuse can result in major side effects. As a result, developing a suitable alternative for such antimicrobial infections is critical. Due to the remarkable cytocompatibility, the metal oxide nanoaparticles have supplanted conventional antibiotic medicines as the most promising options to fight multidrug-resistant microbial infection since the advent of nanomedicine. The purpose of this research is to investigate the synthesis and characterization of zinc oxide NPs using Morinda umbellata leaf extract, and the antimicrobial activity of synthesized NPs against bacteria and fungi. ZnO NPs generated using the innovative green approach have good antibacterial efficiency and might be employed as possible agents in the creation of ZnO-based materials to prevent or control infection caused by a variety of bacterial and fungal strains.
