Abstract

Background: Neuropathology is a discipline constantly suffering from scarcity of staff specialists. Digital pathology-empowered analysis emerges as the technology to improve the efficiency of this discipline. Nevertheless, the uniqueness of neuroanatomy hinders workflow development. Here, we evaluated a new workflow developed by EU-funded EBRAIN project, QUINT, which enables semi-automatic, reference atlas-defined brain image annotation, cell segmentation, and quantification. QUINT was benchmarked against the well established QuPath manual platform using whole slide image(WSI) of Ataxia Telangiectasia(ATM)-knockout mouse models.
