What they have in fact demonstrated is simply that if a practice attempts to implement advanced access and fails, it will not realize any of the well-documented benefits of the system. Although reduction in third-next-available appointments for both “short” and “long” appointments is an improvement, it is in no way sufficient to claim that “advanced access” has been achieved.
