Abstract

The continuous K-nearest neighbor-skyline query (CKN-SQ) is an important type of location-based queries in road networks. However, previous studies focus only on static road networks. That is, the object attributes and the conditions of roads in a road network are unchanged. In this paper, we address the problem of processing the CKNN-SQ in dynamic road networks, in which the object attributes and the conditions of roads change with time, by utilizing three data structures, the object attribute dominating matrix (OADM), the road distance sorted list (RDSL), and the skyline object expansion tree (SOET). With the data structures, an algorithm, the CKNN-SQ updating algorithm, is proposed to rapidly update the query result.
