Abstract

:The European National Metrology Institutes have agreed to increase the cooperation in metrological research and jointly execute a coordinated European Metrology Research Programme (EMRP). In order to become eligible for co-funding through the European Commission, they have set up the legal entity called EURAMET, the European Association of National Metrology Institutes. The previous organisation, EUROMET, has been terminated on June 30, 2007 and all responsibilities have been transferred to EURAMET effective July 1, 2007. A first contract between EURAMET and the European Union for a co-funded EMRP was signed in fall 2007 with a financial volume of 64 M€ The first joint research projects started in February 2008.
