Abstract

Abstract The following reactions : Npo 2 ++ + Cl − ⇌ NpO 2 + + 1 2Cl 2 Npo 2 ++ + 4HCl − ⇌ Np 4+ + 2H 2 O + Cl 2 + 2Cl − have been examined from a quantitative point of view in LiClCsCl (55-45 mol %) in the temperature range 400–550°C by sparging definite compositon gas mixtures (N 2 , Cl 2 ) in the melt, the concentrations beeing evaluated by visible and near infrared absorption spectrophotometry. The values of the equilibrium constants are at 450°C: K 1 = (1,60 ± 0,99) atm 1 2 K 3 = (3,2 ± 0,3) 10 −4 atm( −1 ) We have also evaluated the standard potential refered to the chlorine normal potentiel.
