Abstract
This article explores different discourse strategies in Moriras lejos with the purpose of showing how the historical records and diverse inseparable-from fiction intertextual elements are incorporated in the novel of Jose Emilio Pacheco. Por Gustavo Lespada, Moriras lejos more than a compilation or summary of af ew books and documents about the diaspo ra and holocaust. In addition to being an elaborate aesthetic product, this novel is an instrument of political analysis still in force which recurs to fascist crimes and to the investigation of history in order to judge the present and to stimulate the use of memory as activity for learning and prevention.
