Abstract
Abstract The definition of an effective set of indicators can establish a competitive advantage in organizations. In this regard, the questions of this research were guided by the need of identifying which key performance indicators are effective for monitoring an electroerosion process. The objective of this study was to propose a management process for key performance indicators related to an electroerosion machining process and monitor them. To achieve this objective, the criteria to identify the indicators were defined with the use of questionnaires covering the 5 dimensions and the 12 characteristics of an effective indicator. The individual analysis of the indicators obtained from the literature review and those used by the company was then carried out. In the literature review, a sufficient number of examples identifying indicators in the electroerosion machining processes were not found, demonstrating a gap on this topic. Dashboards have been developed for the online monitoring of the proposed key performance indicators. Finally, a questionnaire was conducted to analyze the method applied to select the indicators, demonstrating that the method used was clearly developed resulting in an ideal and effective quantity for the process management.
