Abstract

Admission to Brazilian Universities is through an entrance exam that requires commitment form students. Students who fail end up aen- ding college preparatory courses to direct their studies for the exam. Thus, the year before the entrance exams take place may lead to stress and anxiety in students, and in severe cases oen leading to illness. This study sought to identify signs of stress and its relationship with the professional choice in 31 college preparatory course students. The method used is the Lipp Stress Symptom Inventory and the Information Sheet on Choice. In the sample, the results showed 67,7% with some kind of stress, 42,1% have lile information about the chosen profession; 51,6% have only one option of choice and 64,6% feel insecure to make a decision.
