Abstract

In the existing science-and-technical literature, insufficient attention is paid to the research in dynamics of wheeled machines with rotary front axle. The use of rotary axle compared to that of rotary guide wheels enables minimizing the momentum of turning resistance, decreasing tires’ wear-off, and improving maneuverability of the mentioned machines. The use of the front rotary axle can be most efficient in tractors’ self-propelled chassis due to sufficient space available under its technological frame. The momentum of resistance to the turning of the guiding axle is proportional to the amount of the side force influencing the front axle. It is shown in the article that at certain law of the rotary axle movement, it is possible to decrease the impact of side force on the front axle to zero, which means bringing to zero the momentum of resistance to turning. An algorithm of automatic control of the process of front axle turning is offered.
