Abstract

Alkaline earths metals were titrated potentiometrically in the presence of polyethylene glycol with sodium tetraphenylborate. The sensor was a coated-graphite rod. The method can be used for the sequential estimation of barium, strontium, and calcium. The solubility of the precipitated species decreases with increasing atomic weight of the metals.
