Abstract

ESR investigations of electroluminescent (Zn, Cd)S:Mn powder phosphors have been carried out for Mn-concentrations ranging from 0.01 wt % to 3 wt %. The variation of EL- brightness with Mn-concentration has also been studied. Attempts have been made to show that the formation of Mn 2+ ion pairs and clusters causes the concentration quenching of EL-brightness in (Zn, Cd)S:Mn phosphors at higher Mn 2+ concentrations.
