Abstract

In the 1 September 2005 issue of the Journal in the article by White et al. (White PJ, Ward H, Cassell, JA, et al. Vicious and virtuous circles in the dynamics of infectious disease and the provision of health care: gonorrhea in Britain as an example. J Infect Dis 2005; 192:824–36), there were various errors. In the seventh sentence of the “Behavior of infected individuals and their flow through the health-care system” subsection of the Methods section, the mean infectious period in uninfected individuals should be 15 (not 21) weeks; also, the category listed in the third row of table 2 should be “Mean untreated infectious period (not “Untreated infectious period” per se), and the entry should be 15 (not 21) weeks.
