Abstract
Equine Therapy has been a therapeutic practice adopted to treat several kinds of health disorders, and its effectiveness was scientifically proved. Based on this statement, this work has as main objective, to analyze the involvement of Physical Education in the activities developed in Equine Therapy for People with Disabilities and to consider aspects related to its effects. In addition, specifically, to enumerate the deficiencies attended by the professionals of Equine Therapy according to already published scientific articles; to ponder the involvement of the Physical Education professional in the activities developed with disabled people and with the multidisciplinary team; to evaluate the effects of equine therapy and physical education in working with people with disabilities.This is about a systematic review, with a quantitative-3qualitative approach, of an exploratory descriptive kind. 14,104 articles were found in total. 14,061 were excluded for not showing any connection with the descriptors and also for being out of the pre-determined period of time. 43 publications were selected, of which, 31 articles were not related with the theme and 5 were duplicates. Therefore, 7 articles in total were used. However, it was observed that applying Physical Education in the activities towards the disabled in Equine Therapy, as a result, brings significant improvement in the fine and coarse motor coordination.
