Abstract
Discrepancies in school access, achievement, and completion between genders, across income levels, and among regions and ethnic groups persist across much of the region. These inequalities are associated with individual poverty, but not necessarily associated with national economic growth. Developing political will and effective strategies are a central challenge of the next decade.
