Abstract

Abstract EPR investigations of ferroelastic phase transitions in the trigonal double KSc-tungstate are reported. The anomalies in the EPR spectra confirm the phase transition at 307 K. Moreover, a new phase transition at 288 K has been found from changes in the principal directions of the fine structure tensor and the symmetry of anisotropy patterns of EPR lines. The symmetry of the ferroelastic phases has been established as C2/c below 307 K and P1 below 288 K.
