Abstract

Increasing demand for genomic testing, coupled with existing workforce shortages in clinical genetics has placed unsustainable pressure on standard models of care. Patient-facing digital health applications can empower patients and provide sustainable and scalable clinical solutions to address this gap. In genetics, these digital tools can address workforce shortages and long wait times for genetic testing and counseling services that have led to delayed and inequitable access to necessary genetics care.
