Abstract

This paper is aimed to gain a better understanding of the relationship between environmental scanning and performance. A quantitative, non-experimental, and descriptive-analytic questionnaire survey design was used in this study. A random sample was drawn from members of Iranian Automobile Parts Manufactures Association (IAPMA). The results of stepwise regression analysis indicated that scanning competitors environment is the major and the only factor that affects performance. Thus, parts manufacturing companies can focus deeply on the competitors’ environment to improve their performance. Key words: Environmental scanning, performance, parts manufacturing companies.
