Abstract
Corporate social responsibility (CSR) has become a crucial commitment for companies, reflecting their dedication to environmental care and sustainable development. This commitment involves a focus on preserving the planet and promoting practices that ensure respect for the natural environment, along with a balanced attention to the fundamental aspects of the economy and society. While Mexico has made significant progress in disclosing environmental financial information through the Bolsa Mexicana de Valores, there is a limitation in disseminating this information among smaller companies. This raises the question of whether corporate social responsibility could create an obligation to issue sustainable information and whether specific regulations are necessary to govern the disclosure of environmental financial information. To address these questions, a thorough investigation involving the careful review of representative documents, information issued by national and international organizations, and current legislation on the subject is essential.
