Abstract
Given the importance of knowledge of the mitral stenosis, training simulations for diagnosis are developed during the degree.Several high fidelity clinical cases with different difficulty levels are prepared and adapted to SimMan manikin including anonymized patient's history information, signs and real images. Once tested, the cases are used in theoretical and practical sessions to reinforce classroom learning.Students have some difficulties recognizing the disease based on clinical and patient's history information. However, they have a high degree of clinical suspicion, without confirming it until images are displayed. The student is able to recognize the disease thanks to the complementary images, but not to develop a preliminary clinical diagnosis. We believe that strengthening the recognition of signs is necessary, emphasizing that additional tests must be used to confirm a clinical suspicion that they must have previously develop themselves.
