Abstract

The adoption of e-commerce platforms in the agricultural sector has the potential to benefit smallholder farmers by providing them by means of access to latest markets, developing their bargaining power, and increasing their income. This study proposes an AI-based e-commerce marketing strategy for agricultural products that has the potential to enhance the livelihoods of smallholder farmers by facilitating their access to new markets, improving their bargaining power, and increasing their income. The proposed e-commerce platforms can serve as a useful tool for connecting farmers with potential buyers and enhancing the efficiency of the agricultural value chain. Furthermore, incorporating e-commerce platforms can aid farmers in overcoming information asymmetry, decreasing transaction costs, and boosting market access. The article presents a comprehensive analysis of the potential benefits of integrating AI-based e-commerce platforms into the agricultural sector, emphasizing the importance of leveraging technology to promote inclusive growth and sustainable development. Overall, this research article highlights the importance of e-commerce platforms as a tool for enhancing market access and improving the livelihoods of smallholder farmers in developing countries.
