Abstract

High efficiency self-pumped phase conjugation (SPPC) has been obtained in 45°-cut Rh:BaTiO3 crystal using a Ti:Al2O3 laser. Stable SPPC reflectivities as high as 90% are measured in a region of incident angle between 45° and 67°. The SPPC buildup time is 5-7 times as fast as 0°-cut Rh:BaTiO3 crystal. Reflectivity as a function of wavelength is also obtained. The reflectivity remains essentially constant at 90±3% from 708 to 858 nm. The photorefractive performance of this special 45°-cut Rh:BaTiO3 is characterized and compared with the 0°-cut Rh:BaTiO3.
