Abstract
Language is a system of communication, consisting of sounds and words used for the expression or exchange of ideas, concepts, knowledge. Language is our primary source of communicating. Taking in consideration that there are around 6.500 languages spoken in the world today, we find English Language as the most widely spoken language. The importance of this language cannot be denied or ignored as it is strengthened everyday by globalization and development of communication technology. As in the whole world, English Language has its own importance in Kosovo, especially in the last two decades which do succeed the end of a social, cultural and political segregation. The fast-growing importance of English Language has also forced changes in the education system of Kosovo, changes that seem to be superficial because the number of fluent English Language speakers after graduating from high school still remains low.
