Abstract
Triplet state energy transfer in a pyrene-d10 doped fluorene single crystal was investigated by ESR. The rates of guest triplet absorption signal decays, after cessation of illumination, were determined in two different crystal orientations. The results were interpreted in terms of a particular kinetic model of energy transfer process in the crystal. The depths of the shallow impurity traps due to disturbed host species were found in the temperature range 130-300K. The temperature dependence of the spin-lattice relaxation time was discussed in terms of these shallow host traps. A new mechanism was suggested due to the deep guest and shallow host traps for the relaxation in this mixed crystal system.
