Abstract

After a brief introduction, the definitions needed by the setting up of the difference between “financial optimization” and “energy savings” in large electrical power plants are described; this concerns the cost of non-delivered power load and the determination of a parameter estimating the relation between investment costs and energy savings, called the payback period.
