Abstract
Advocates praise the use of energy efficiency (EE) for reducing climate change and the energy bills of consumers. Many contend that it is the most economical way to decrease carbon emissions—that by reducing energy consumption along with greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, these initiatives more than pay for themselves. Advocates of EE also believe that much more needs to be done to encourage and even mandate further EE investments by energy consumers.
