Abstract
A theory of the electrophoretic mobility of soft particles (i.e., spherical hard colloidal particle) is reviewed. This theory unites two different electrophoresis theories for spherical hard particles and for spherical polyelectrolytes. The physical and mathematical basis of this theory is discussed in comparison with those for rigid particles and spherical polyelectrolytes.
