Abstract
In his article on whether or not an electronics component should be included in an A–level physics course (Physics Bulletin March 1982 p96), Dr I R Gomersall raises an issue which has troubled subject panel members for many years. There is incidentally a comparable, if not greater, problem at the O– and CSE–level, if only because of the larger and more diverse number of pupils involved.
