Abstract

In this work a single Extra-X Current Controlled Conveyor (EX-CCCII) is used to realize a current mode configurable analog block (CAB). The proposed CAB requires two grounded impedances and five switches, for realizing many analog functions by appropriate selection of input current nodes(s), impedances and switches. The CAB exhibits relatively low input impedance (0.809 kΩ) and high output impedance (0.15 MΩ) at bias current of 100 μA, making it ideal for cascading. The total power dissipation is found as 2.45 mW. The functionality of the various circuits designed around the proposed CAB is given using 0.25 μm TSMC CMOS technology parameters. Utility of the proposed CAB for system realization is explored with examples of higher order filters along with an oscillator example.
