Abstract

The resistivities of liquid alkali metal Na–K alloys are investigated using Ziman formula and the alternative expression based on Ziman formula suggested by Ferraz and March. As for the input of pseudopotential, the individual version of the electron–ion potential proposed by Fiolhais and coworkers which was originally developed for solid state is used and static structure factors are derived from the solution of Ornstein–Zernike integral equation with HMSA closure. From present investigations, it is shown that the Faber–Ziman formula with VWN screening is the better choice for the resistivity calculations of liquid Na–K metals and their alloys.
