Abstract

The E0, E2 and M1 matrix elements were obtained for the interband transitions between levels with spin up to 6 in the β-vibrational and the ground-state bands of 176Hf by studying the following reactions: 176Hf(α, α') 176Hf, 174Yb(α, 2nγ) 176Hf and 174Yb(α, 2ne) 176Hf . The interband E2 transition matrix elements are small and in agreement with the collective model with rotation-vibration interactions included. The ratios of the E0 to E2 matrix elements are constant over spins 2–6 in agreement with the collective model. The value ( g K− g R) for states in the isomeric bands built on 6 + and 8 − states are obtained.
