Abstract

The presented work is about the simulation and measurement of the stochastic electromagnetic field coupling to multiconductor transmission line (MTL) structures in a freespace like surrounding (without any ground plane present) inside a stochastic electromagnetic field. The simulations were performed in CONCEPT-II, based on the Method of Moments (MoM). The measurements were carried out in a reverberation chamber. Moreover, some simulations based on transmission line theory (TLT) were done and validated against the MoM and measurements. A three-wire transmission line was investigated over a wide frequency range from 200 MHz to 1 GHz of the electromagnetic field excitation. The coupled voltage as a function of the frequency was investigated for different wire arrangements, different terminations of the lines and various lengths.
