Abstract

The electrical conductivities of molten alkaline-earth chlorides and their binary mixtures with potassium chloride over entire components concentrations have been found to raise with raising external electric field and to reach the limiting values in fields about 5 × 10 6 V/m. Isotherms of the limiting conductivity of mixtures have been shown to be additive functions of the composition. The spectra of luminescence accompanying the high-voltage discharges in the melts have been recorded. The postactivational relaxation time turned out to be anomalously prolonged.
