Abstract

Here, we report results of electrical and magnetic characterization studies on polycrystalline (1-x) BiFeO3-xPbTiO3 (BF-xPT) thin films of compositions x = 0.25.0.30 and 0.35 near the morphotropic phase boundary. All films show saturated ferroelectric hysteresis loops at room temperature. DC leakage current studies reveal that different mechanisms affect the leakage behavior in these films. Low leakage current density observed results in saturated ferroelectricity at room temperature. Magnetic measurements show saturated hysteresis loops with remnant magnetization upto 0.1 µB/ formula unit. Micro Raman studies reveal that the films have monoclinic structure for x=0.25 which coexists with tetragonal phase in x=0.30 and x=0.35 compositions.
