Abstract

Stand-alone control mechanism for electric vehicles has problems in reliability and security, a control strategy based on warm standby was proposed, when host engine failed, the standby engine would replace the host engine and take over the control tasks. Markov model was used to analysis the reliability of the warm standby system, and its performance was compared with stand-alone control system on reliability and security performance, the results show that reliability and security level of warm standby system is significantly higher than stand-alone control system.
